You're in Penang? Having an idea to visit this wonderful and breathtaking island? Then don't hesitate to try their food there! When we talk about Penang, what pops out first in our mind especially for us the food lovers is the superb Asam Laksa; the world's 50 best food !

Wait! What? You haven't tried it yet, and wondering what's so special about it?? Well..there must be something special about it as it gets people talking about it with fondness. The spicy and sourness of it just take people to heaven! The famous asam laksa is a fish-based noodle soup that comes with shredded fish ( sardine or mackerel / both) and some vegetables such as cucumber, lettuce, onions, red chillies and more. How it is served? Well, it is topped with some prawn paste to add a little more excitement in it.

I bet most of you are heading to try some now eh? I know, because I'm already craving for it too! But wait! Before you make a move, make sure you know where to try it!

If you're in Balik Pulau, make sure you drop by Kim's Laksa in the Nan Guang coffee shop located at the T-junction of Jalan Tun Sardon and Jalan Balik Pulau. The thick and pungent smell of it just can't get you out of the stall.I suppose, a glass of fresh white nutmeg juice with sour plum will go along perfectly with this meal. The prices are also reasonable and I will guarentee you that it will be worth it.

Besides that, Air Itam area also provides this amazing dish! Drop by Pasar Air Itam Laksa. This stall has been operating for approximately the past 61 years in Penang.The speciality of it is actually the spiciness and the generousity of vegetables in it!

Wandering around Jalan Penang eh? Well, look around you and search for a coffee shop which sells asam laksa. It is not that difficult to find it though because that is the most famous laksa stall there. This one here is added with two fishballs for good measure.
