Mamak fried mee!What is this? Well, its a normal fried mee but what makes it special is that it is fried by Indian-Muslims where they really know how to make it taste different than the usual mee.

This fried mee is popular in Indonesia, Singapore and also Malaysia. It s spicy and flavorful fried noodle dish. This fried noodle is made with thin yellow noodles frie with cooking oil and garlic, onions, fried prawn, chicken meat, some eggs, Chinese cabbage, chilli,tomatoes and other vegetables. It can be found everywhere in our country, Malaysia and also Indonesia. It is sold by food vendors from street- hawkers to high class restaurants. Street hawkers usually sell it together with fried rice, which is also superbly cooked by them.

This dish is derived from Chinese chow mein and it is believed to be introduced by the chinese immigrants in Indonesia, Malaysia and Brunei. To make it look more presentable Malays usually sprinkle fried shallots, addition of spicy sambal and shrimp, chicken and beefs.
